Hi all

I have posted on here before. Almost three months ago my boyfriend of two years broke up with me.

I'm sorry your friends are not being more empathetic.

laughs. I swear my friends were like, "it's been 2 weeks?!, why are you still crying over him?" It's sort of funny, in retrospect, in a very annoying way.

But anyways, the hard truth of it is that a lot of them haven't gone through the same experience so they can't 'really' understand. To quote an example, I broke up with my ex of a year and a half. My best friend - totally clueless. Her longest relationship was 5 months and she's very promiscuous. She has no idea why the man I gave my virginity and love to should take so long to get over because he's such a "douche". Right.

But truthfully, it's much easier to get support on THESE boards, because the range of people you meet here is so broad. You're bound to find someone else who's going or gone through the same thing and they're more likely to sympathize.

good luck! Heal at your pace

cheers
Susanna

Hi coolia,

We look to our friends for support, but turns out they get tired of hearing about it.... Come here instead, journal write, get mentally prepared when you know you are going to see those friends so you won't be tempted to talk about it.
