Welcome to the board freshstart06,

That's a tough one since you had to make the first move last time, which tells he's probably not going to do that this time.

So are you willing to accept the way things are with his ex?

Yes!!! Some guys shut down. They tend to avoid situations and hope that they just go away or resolve themselves. The fact that you are "sort of" long distance doesn't help. I understand that. (Been in an LDR) Only you are going to know if you should initiate contact or wait it out. Do what feels right. If you have been together that long, I am sure that one of you will eventually contact the other.

Good Luck!

Well like usual it boils down to you contact him, he contacts you, or your leave each other alone.

A lot of depends on two things: how much you want the relationship and how much you think you can stand indefinitely. So say, Can you take this arrangement for the next 5 years, (when she starts high school)? If not it'll come down to one heck of a compromise or just to leave it alone.

If you're looking for solutions...well..how does he feel if you visit sometime to get to know his daughter? Or have his daughter come with you over the weekends sometimes? Or of course, the old stand by, see a lawyer about this just to see how far she has the right to push him.

in any case, whatever you choose, bonne chance
