i've kept up the no contact thing since october (background: LDR for 3 years; he broke it off in sept saying he needed to focus on self, but then immediately

I completely understand you.
I too have not heard nor seen my ex since October. October was the month that he broke up with me. The holidays does make it harder but we should always look at the bright side...
I congratulate you for been strong and moving forward :)
I will tell you this, although I wish he would call or know something, I know that it will not help me at all, so lets keep moving forward and hope for the best.
Merry Christmas!
Yes, we all understand.
The idea that you can be so close to someone, and then *poof* it's over, is very, very traumatic.
I wish I knew how traumatic breaks up when I was younger.
Hi Showtime...I felt like your post could have been one of my own.
::do we ever stop loving someone? do we ever stop loving our first love?
Yes. It just takes time. It's part of the grieving process.
still trying to heal and zap those unhealthy thoughts. comparing now wiith how i was right after breakup, it's amazing to see how different things are. i feel stronger, and i know there's a light at the end of the tunnel. i'm just trying to get there.
(and no, i haven't talked to him)
Hi Showtime,
I will say that letting go of someone that was once a very important part of your life is extremely difficult but it's not impossible to move forward.
