Interested in finding out your REALISTIC ideal body weight? Here's how...
In Protein Power Plan (my new favorite book, even though I am an Atkid), they explain how to find out your body fat percentage, and how much lean mass you have, and what your ideal body weight would be based on the ideal fat percentage for your age.
For instance, I am 5'4.5". At 227lbs, I currently have 111 lbs of lean body mass. The rest is fat. The ideal fat percentage for someone my age is 20-26% (it does go up with age). This puts my ideal weight at 139 - 150 lbs. Quite a bit above what the charts say (I think around 120-130).
I wish I could give you the calculations, but the book has some charts that you use and I couldn't possibly post the charts. Way too much work. However, if you're interested, I'd be more than happy to calculate your lean body mass, fat percentage and ideal weight based on fat percentage.
All I need is accurate hip and waist measurements, your accurate height (in inches), and current weight in pounds, and your age.
I'll be checking in a lot today to calculate for you!
