Remember not so long ago when we talked about what we did and didn't like about the board, what was missing, what was right, what kind of board each of you wanted? When it was all said and done it seemed pretty clear that what you wanted was a board with problems to solve, not idle chit chat. You indicated that you were less apt to respond if your thoughts had pretty well already been represented by someone else. Well, the more new posts there are, the less likely that is to happen. That's where you can help.
iVillage has asked me, with your help, to create a testimonial post. Here's why: For technical reasons having to do with our member authorization system, search engines can't "see" our message boards - but they would be able to "see" the testimonial pages. The testimonial pages would link back to the boards, so if someone was searching for a message
board on friendship, for example, the testimonial page could turn up in their search, so they could easily find their way into the friendship message board.
In writing your "testimonial", the longer and more specific the testimonial, the better. It's best if you can include fairly specific terms that people might search on (e.g., couples, relationships, problems, solutions, support, forums, information, advice). If you're having trouble thinking of what to say, you might ask yourself: If you were telling a friend about why you participated in this message board, what would you say about it? Why does this board matter to you?, and just write your post as an answer to those questions.
I'll start it off by writing one of my own.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Living Together

The Problem Solving for Couples board is a great place to come for unbiased suggestions, thoughts and opinions on the issues and troubles that are present in your marriage or significant relationship. The board members are an incredible group who give honest and frank thoughts; they'll tell you what they think without beating around the bush about it. This group has a vast array of personal experience and can offer the kind of support, advice and information that can only come from those who have been there themselves. The response you'll get on this board is exactly the kind of response I want to problems in my own life, honest, real answers to what they perceive the real problems to be. If you're looking for real, honest answers, information, support and advice, this is the place for you.

"Ignoring the facts
does not change the facts"
I know you didn't write this as a conversational post, but I just had to say that I totally agree. I have learned so much from being on this board and I've completely changed my stand on many issues because of the what I've learned, much of that from the points of view of members that I originally didn't agree with. Exposure to differing viewpoints and experiences is a great learning experience.
