Husband Revealed he has a child

I found an insurance form in my husbands home office that had his name and the name of an unknown female requesting insurance information. I asked him about this and he indicated that this was a child that he had 16 years ago and that he pays support for but has no contact with appearently. We have been married for 4 months and together for almost five years and he has never mentioned this child ever. He has two children from to other women and we have visitation with those children. I am not sure what to think or do next. I don't want to through everything away because of this, I guess I am just not sure what to do.

I take it you never asked if he had other children besides the ones you know about.

Welcome to the board, Kccourt, and hugs to you for what you're going through ~

As if finding out there's one more child than you knew about out there weren't enough, this situation brings up more issues and concerns with it. He pays child support for this child and, therefore, has never informed you of your actual financial situation. You may or may not have been mislead about the amount he makes, but you certainly weren't aware of monthly debts. I would think it would also bring up a lot of feelings of betrayal and mistrust; omitting to tell you is as much a lie as having flatly lied outright - there is no excusing lying by omission, her certainly didn't "forget". If this discovery was recent, I'm sure you're a tangle of feelings. How long ago was this discovered?

There was a post written not long ago on the subject of "lies by omission". While the subject is far from yours, you may relate to the feelings that this kind of situation brings up:

Lied to me...

Let me know what you think.

What does he say about it? What reason does he give for keeping this from you for the past five plus years?

This is the exact same situation with my "sperm donor" ... I am 18, and he has been with this woman for 7-8 years now, and he just recently told her that he has a daughter... but he forgot to mention he has another one... ME!!!.... ohohoooo but now is the time I can camp out on their door step... muahahaha... and get to the bottom of this...
