I have a question about today's young society. I'm 27. Most our friends range from 25-35 years old. Many of our friends when they are out drinking for the evening, married people, people in relationships, singles, and the one's in relationships are even with their SO, are big on groping and humping each other. Men and women alike. I don't understand this form of behavior. Why do they feel it necessary to grab their friends or hump their friends. It's like it's a game and it goes on all night. I for one don't like being treated this way. And I am involved with a man and would perfer he not be treated this way either. They think it's harmless. Maybe it is, but have some decentcy and respect please. My boyfirend who likes to feel like he's part of the crowd, trys to refrain from such actions because he knows it will piss me off, but I might catch him quickly pating some girl on the ass. Usually after he's been drinking for a minute. What is the purpose of acting like this. It goes on for the entire eveing with these people and they think it's fun or funny. I'm really totally stumped as to why they act like this. Am I just old fashioned. I don't even want to be around them when they act like this. Unfortunatly I seem to see this everywhere. Advise please, and if someone can, please help my mind wrap around this.

It sounds like you're involved with a group of people who's actions, behaviors and morals don't meet those you hold. Since you don't approve or agree with what they feel is "harmless", I'd say you need to find a group of friends who don't engage in this behavior. That shouldn't be too difficult.

I can't explain why they'd behave that way other than to say we all have differing views on what is acceptable and appropriate. Clearly, the fact that these people have found each other isn't an accident.

I don't think it's a comment on "today's young society," I think it's a comment on this particular group of people you associate with.
