I think that any site totally depends on the #s of people that are using it. After all, that's what you're doing OLD for- to meet people, right? Well, the more you meet, the better your odds are of meeting a keeper.
The easiest way to figure it out is to go to each of the sites and do a search for a given set of criteria- the age, gender, distance that you're interested in. Count how many results you get.
If I were you, I would avoid Lava Life (or LowLife, as I call it) like the plague. Too many scary individuals. And I have seen alot of guys on Match also on LowLife. Too many married men on Lavalife who try to pass themselves off as single.
I'm taking a break from OLD. Too many of the same old faces, same old liars, and same old B.S.
I've not met anyone on Lavalife who fits into the categories that debvt36 puts forth. I think it truly depends on your location, what you're seeking, how you portray yourself, etc.
For all the people who constantly talk about married guys, abject liars, etc. I have to say I'm either really lucky or just a stellar screener because I haven't run into too many of them. Thus far, the decent people (though maybe not a match for me) far outweight the complete losers I've encountered.
I have been on both match and lava and see the same people. So all I can say is, it's just as good as match.
My male buddy is on lava only and likes it.
Try it and see.

I think it completely depends on your location. I definitely didn't see the same people on match & lavalife.
I met a few people through LL....none of them panned out, but none of them were 'bad' meet-ups either.

I feel the need to give a different POV.
