Thanks for the well wishes. I can say that they helpled me deal with Marty's passing this morning. I initially did not want to be present but I changed my mind because I felt he would have wanted it that way. It was rough; but not as rough as I thought it would be. I now feel relief that he is no longer in pain and although sad, I'm still strong. But for some reason, I feel so calm I feel I'm in slow motion. Now back to OLD topics...
1) I let my membership expire on match (but it's still up) and guess what? I get a wink. Not sure I'm going to pursue it but OLD can be like a line in the Godfather: "As soon as I try to get away, they keep pulling me back in."
2) About the height issue. I'm 6'2" and 3/4 inches so I list my height as 6'3". Went on one date last year and the girl said "You don't look 6'3"; you look 6'2"." Funny since she was only 5'5" and could notice the 1/4 inch!
TT

In the long run, it might have been good for you to be there - for closure and a chance to say goodbye. But of course, I can't know
I'm very sorry about the passing of your cat. It's always terribly sad when a beloved pet has to be put to sleep.
I can't believe someone would dispute a 1/4 inch height difference! She'd probably tell Tom Cruise he was short. lol
I missed the original post, but I am so sorry to hear about your cat. I've owned cats and dogs my entire life and every time one passes, my heart just breaks. They are family.
I'm glad you decide to be there. I wasn't with my last dog. My late husband was and I always regretted it. I think it gives you closure.
I am now down to one dog and my daughters are pestering me for a cat. My last one passed away 3 years ago. But I'm holding firm. They'll be off to college soon enough and I'll be left with the pets! LOL

Believe me - don't pay up. I'd fall over if someone who winked at me ever wrote back. Even if you send the "coded email address" to them --- I think half are winking out of some kinda nervous tic.
You HAVE to read this article in the new Oprah - from a man's point of view. It's called "The Man Who Didn't Get Away" by Rick Moody. Power was out for 8 hours yesterday so I was able to read that mag from cover to cover. It's such a great story.

Speaking of Oprah-Did you watch the episode yesterday where she sent Lisa Ling into the Congo? How horrible!! It was described as the worst place on earth.
