Well, they have to refer a minimum of 30 subscriptions a month to get the 100% payout.

But you're right- it certainly sounds like a big payout. Of course, it's only for the initial subscription; after that point, Match is making money on them.

Match wouldn't do it if they weren't making money on the deal, so you have to figure that they're winding up ahead on the deal when the subscriptions renew.

This apparently points to match making more than 29 (or whatever) per member. They must also get advertising dollars of some sort.

I do think this is only paid on the initial subscription, and the richness leads me to believe that most people renew. That's the only way Match could be making money save for an alternate revenue stream that didn't depend on subscription revenue.
