I have a lunch meeting in a couple of hours-hee hee hee. It is with a guy from Match (damn addiction!!!). He is wicked funny online and he seems to get my sense of humor which wins him lots of house points. We both have said if we are half as funny in person then the lunch will be considered a success no matter what.
I can't believe how different my attitude is going into this then when I first began OLD. All I hope for today is that we laugh, the food is good, and if I am lucky...he will pay because my checkbook is pretty anorexic lately. :) Anything else will be unexpected icing.
After calling my best friend to let her know I made it home and am not stuffed in someone's trunk and being taken across state lines, I will be sure to update you all with how it went.
Hope everyone is having a great day. It is unbelieveably GEORGEOUS outside here in Maine....the first day of the NATIONAL TABOGGAN CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!!! (Yes, our local snow bowl hosts this every year and ESPN even covers it!!)

Let us know how it goes.
The Peanut :-)
Xriver....
I am absolutely THRILLED for you and I am crossing my fingers and toes that it goes well. Maybelline, Killer, Smiley and Lucille also send you big doggy hugs.
I will be without a computer until tomorrow (an IT guy from work is taking it this afternoon to install more memory....he's a peach! He won't be bringing it back until tomorrow), but let us know how it goes.
Oh, P.S.....if you want, you can email me directly at annbeaglemom@aol.com for those tips on crowd anxiety
Good luck!

Looking forward to the lunch recap. Here's hoping it goes well!!

You are HILARIOUS! ok, we're looking forward to the update *after* you call your friend to check in ;)
I'm sort of psyched too, my "straight to the phone call" dude actually panned out, and we have a ....GASP....<<>>
OMG!
Hey all~
Sorry about the late update! Yesterday's lunch date was great! I enjoyed myself, he was funny, easy to talk to, just like his pics, and nice. We huged when we met, which I didn't mind at all, as well as hugged when we parted. Good hug, too...not a namby pamby little pat on the back or anything. I looked him right in the face and told him tha tI had a really nice time and would love to do it again, but would leave it up to him to tell me when or if. He said he had a great time, too. No plans made right there on the spot. He is going away for a golfing trip with his 2 brothers on Tuesday so we don't really have any time to see each other before then.
So all is good! We both joked about how on Match it seems like people tend to think that because you have exchanged a few emails or phone calls that folks view a first date actually like a third or fourth date. They can tend to put too much into just meeting someone. I could hear all of you nodding your heads behind me saying, "Yup!". I expressed my feeling's (well, LG's....) that a first "date" really isn't a date it is a meeting to try to figure out if you maybe want to go on a DATE later.
We'll see what happens! Hopefully we will have some fun. The worst that can happen is he ghosts and I say NEXT...which....would be easy...because there is another guy I am emailing with, too. Heeheeheehee. I want a gold start for my forehead. :)
There's your gold star, sweetie...
See? Wasn't it just a month ago or so you had lost all hope and ran screaming from OLD talking about... I'm taking a break, I don't need this frustration.....
I'm glad you had a good time and the guy has some potential! Just keep those hopes realistic, but I know you know that.
