Do you have to be a paid memeber to read your emails? I am not and got an email and why I try to read it it is blank.

I do not think you have to be a paid member to read emails. I do believe it will strip out name@emailaddress.com but leaves nameatemailaddressdotcom.
We tested this about a month back with some of the people on the forum and I'm pretty sure that is what we discovered.
No, you don't. Two possibilities come to mind:
1. The entire email consisted of his email address, which was stripped out
2. He hit send by mistake before writing anything.
If you like his profile, I'd shoot him a wink...maybe he'll figure out that his email was lacking.

I have noticed recently that Match has eaten quite a few emails that were sent to me. They'll come through completely blank- name of sender, etc, but no content in the email.
Then again, at least a couple of times it was because the person sending accidentally did it that way.
IMO, Match's email system stinks, because it adds a layer of complexity that they don't need. By taking what you type in on the web page and then forwarding it to your regular email address, they have to add in software that strips out the true email address and stuff, and I think that can get messed up.
When you reply from your email address to someone, it goes out, into Match's computer, gets some software magic performed on it, then resent to their computer.
It'd be a lot easier if they just kept all the email on the Match.com system and you had to log on to read it, instead of forwarding it to your home email.
I can still read my email on Match, not being a paying subscriber right now, but can't email them back to respond. Also, I've noticed if I open an email on there and move my mouse too quickly the whole email doesn't load. So I have to wait a little bit after opening it and then it appears. But I have had a few blank ones also.
I have stopped my subscription on Match for awhile and have noticed a strange thing...
When I was a member and I would send my home email address to someone or they would email me theirs through Match, Match would delete it first so there would be a blank space. Yet sometimes you could get it past them by spelling out the whole thing as in kalli123athotmaildotcom.
So the strange thing is, now that I am no longer a member, the emails I have received recently that the guys have included their home emails in, Match has NOT blanked these out???
It's just strange why sometimes they let the home emails through and other times they don't. With Yahoo, they seem to let the home emails come through I've noticed.
I had this same thing happen to me last week and I am a paying member. I received a blan email from someone I had been communicating with. I replied telling him it was blank and lo-and-behold....when I went into my "sent" folder my email was blank! THEN he replied to that one and his email was blank AGAIN.
Our guess was the we replied too many times to each other off of the original emai (we had each responded 2-3 times. Once I sent a brand new email instead of replying we were back on track.
I emailed Match about the problem which they say they will respond to in 24 hours. HA. I got a "we received your email and are working on it" form email 3 days later. Nothing since then....
Slightly off track - but I know that if another member has blocked you -- and you send them an email. That email will NOT wind up in YOUR sent basket. One way to know that you've been blocked. It won't be there at all (has nothing to do with being there but blank).
Another useless tidbit of information.
