Where Do You Meet Men in Real Life?

Hi All:

I'm still seeing the guy I met a few weeks ago, but if things don't work out, I have deleted all my OLD profiles. I'm getting burned out and bummed out on OLD.

My questions is: where do you meet guys in real life? I've done all the usual: volunteering (which is fine, but there are usually a bunch of women), attending singles functions, etc.

Any ideas???

I'm in the same boat! If my current guy doesn't work out, I'm going the non-OLD route for a while...I'd love ideas too. By the way, I was in traffic court today, and met a great guy...too bad he was married, though he might work as a business connection!

CB,

Here's some ideas but these pertain to me and my personality style. I'm certain the other guys on the board can give you their opinions. Enjoy:

1) Meet us in a bar: Original eh? I rarely go but if I asked you to dance would you? Or would I be shot down in flames? Three rejections and I'm out of the nightclub or bar.

2) Meet us in the grocery store: I'm casually shopping so all I need is a little sign you're interested. Perhaps eye contact or ask me to find something for you? "Excuse me, do you know where I can find some mayonaise and some moon pies?"

3) Meet us in church: I'm a preacher's son so I'll admit I draw pictures during the sermon. Even when my dad is preaching. Then I'm looking forward to the cafeteria visit afterwards. Perhaps some eye contact? Perhaps ask me a question during bible study?

4) Meet us on the big on-line sites: I have to admit I'm married and 8 inches lower than my profile states. And my sign-on name is TALLTXDONG. Just send a wink and I'll eagerly send you some luvin.

5) Meet us in the gym: Just make some eye contact or mention something abstract and I'll pick up on it and strike up a conversation. Meeting in the steam room is pretty HOT.

6) Meet us at work: Good place to meet males. Even if we're married.

7) Meet us on Craiglist: Just put a post on CL and you'll probably have 500 men e-mail you in one hour. And according to a girl I spoke with on there briefly; 200 of them will send you pics of their talleys.

8) Meet us on plentyoffish.com: I just put up a photo of me mowing my yard with a thong and my favorite face shot with my hairy mole. Of course, my sign-on name is LONGDONGTX.

9) and lastly: just live your life to the fullest and one day we'll meet and fall in love without all of the above..

TT, thanks for the laugh. I'm having a very stressful day at work, and just stopped in for a moment, and this cracked me up...I needed that!!!

Don't ever leave, okay? You, LG, Eric, NGOL, and PG all offer so much to this board. Thank you so much!

Oh, and to answer your question, CB, I don't!!!

As far as I can tell, there no single, normal, even moderately attractive men in my age group in Seattle or the surrounding area who EVER go out in public...except when they are out on a OLD meeting ;-).

I meet a lot of guys in the locker room at the gym. The sight is enough to give you night sweats. The guy who is 300lbs always picks the locker perpendicular to mine. Some guys in there have more hair on them than an orangutang.

If I were a women, here's where I'd hang out:

1) Bookstore
2) Shopping
3) Civic volunteer things

I think Bars, Gyms and Hiking groups are the worst places to meet people.
