Pianoguy hopes to make other couples happy with a romantic tune or two.......assuming the restaurant he plays for isn't completely buried by the northeast snowstorm that Maine is receiving today!

Hi D,
I have dates on Friday and Saturday this weekend; first one on Friday with new toy guy and 3rd with cute lawyer,on Saturday...but I do not think either of them are in the 'Valentine vein'...men do not think as we do--although you are Bombarded with valentine's day from...ohhhh...New Year's Day on, they do not think of it until they are stopped at a traffic light and see the "drive through this tent and save your oblivious a**, a dozen roses 25 dollars", that they erect here on February 12th, allllll over the great state of Texas (our men are tall and handsome, but sadly, forgetful here!) So, I have No expectations for Val Day...yet.
Hope some of you here DO have sweet, romantic plans though--4-1-1 us!
Truly,
Cupcake
MY plan is to attend the Banff Film Festival showing at the high school that night. Yeppers, going by myself!!! And I don't think I really mind....it's going to be fun.
Now, if the nice guy I met last weekend comes back from his golf trip down south on Saturday and calls me when he gets home and suggests that we do something casual, not real coupley...then I may just invite him along. Maybe. :)
If my son counts, we are going out for sushi.
If he doesn't count, I have a male Pug who gives great kisses.
If he doesn't count, I have a male cat, but we don't much like each other. (He really my son's cat)
If he doesn't count, nope, no Valentine.
Well, don't beat me , but I do...kind of. I'll be seeing my guy of 4 months on Friday. A quiet dinner and then??? I'll actually be spending the 14th at home. He has a late meeting on Monday and had suggested we do something anyway, but I get up at 4:00am on Tuesdays. Just can't do those late nights like I used to. ;)
I was kind of sweating it as he hadn't even mentioned V'day unitl Tuesday. I was also having some issues with him possibly pulling back a bit, but that seems to be resolving itself.
I have a 3rd date on Saturday night...but I'm not thinking it's a Valentine's date, and I kind of doubt he is (but who knows). I'm still on the fence about this guy...I really enjoy his company, but I just don't know about the attraction factor.
I plan to spend "Black Monday" trying to ignore it.

Hi You Two,
I am having the same feelings about cute lawyer...third date on Saturday and I Must like him, as I said yes again, but I am JUST not sure "why" I like his company? He is not my 'usual m.o.' for a man, but then again, maybe he is the kind of man who Won't behave LIKE my usual 'm.o'...hmmmmmm....that said, do we Have to have a reason, or can we just roll with it?
I am tired of the "burning meteor of attraction hurtling towards the earth, only to crash into its' surface, burn wildly and leave a large, smoking crater...". Do any of you have a relationship that Began like that and then Survived?
Truly,
Cupcake
I have a lunch date on Saturday. Not Valentine's as it is a first meeting.
Can't help but have the age old fantasy of some secret admirer sending me flowers at work. Maybe we should send them to each other?

Cupcake...It's funny, but as I was reading your post, I was thinking that's exactly how things started with my current BF.
When I first met him there were no red flags, but very few sparks. Not typically the kind of guy I went for. However, he ws SO nice, SO sweet! He continued to persue me, but not relentlessly. I couldn't put my finger on why I kept seeing him. So, I did just roll with it. On subsequent dates I realized, and apprently so did he, that we had so much in common. We're on the same page on so many things.
We're now dating 4 months and have gone "exclusive". I know that we're in that stage where the "thrill" of infatuation is starting to wear off and I *think* we're going thorugh this stage OK. So as it stands now, I'd say we're good. :)
Good luck with cute lawyer guy!
