JH - take a break girl. Honestly its been the best thing I could've done for myself.

I was telling my sis in law last night that OLD actually isn't that great as I had thought. Not only does it provide a heavan for players and flakes.. but also, you never have to settle down with 20000+ profiles in the database... I just didn't and don't think its a great place for people to go to find relationships. I know its a bit one-sided and I will say there are exceptions... but these days, OLD isn't just for the guys who couldn't get dates anymore, its now attracted a slew of players and nasty guys who use it as a way to get into girl's pants.

I KNOW there are nice guys on there, just like real life, you've gotta weed through 'em. But honestly, why dont we all just put that effort we put into OLD into real life encounters. Like the cute guy who smiles at the store, or coffee shop. Or the guy who is walking down the street and trying not to look your way, but you know he is.... I told my sis in law since Ive decided to put my effort into real life encounters, I feel much better.

I had started OLD due to the fact I couldnt meet anyone. Well hellooo, yes I can and so can you JH... you just need to put that effort you put into OLD into real life. I will say OLD is perfect for very shy/less outgoing people... but other than that, I really think real life is a much better place to meet people. This is totally opposite of what I thought when I began OLD. So go figure.

Anyhow, I went on a tangent, but hopefully made you see you aren't a failure for not finding a dude to stick thru OLD. Nor is there anything wrong w/ you or your profile. I really think you are one of the people that wil lbe better off in real life senarios.

Hang in there girl. -S

I said it a long time ago. You are too normal for online dating (and that's a good thing).

Yeah. I know you've said that - and I know that you mean that as a good thing, so thank you.

I suppose I'm also too normal for "real life" dating.

My last real life date was in 2001. It was a blind date that didn't lead to a second date. My last real life date before that was in 1998. That too didn't lead to a second date.

Oh, do I understand!! For many years I was open to meeting men but not devoting my life to it...and guess what: no dates! At least I've had a few dates in the past five months. And one (1) was somebody I met IRL. So even if they "ghost" away after one or two dates, for the most part they are not men I wanted as boyfriends, anyhow, so no big loss. Just a blow to my ego--it ought to be ME who decides when we stop seeing each other!!

Maybe it's just the site you've been using that doesn't have that many people? I think you mentioned before you use jdate, why not give match a try? True is not a religion based site, but you can still screen off people of other religions, but it might have many more users that are compatible to you than the site you're currently using...

And to piggyback on what ccsr is saying... have you ever tried eHarmony? I know a few people who got hooked up that way and 2 couples that are married. It's a bit better than match.com from what I hear because it looks at your personality.

Thanks. I've tried match. There are exactly 6 men on there who live in my area and who have the same religious background I do .

How about joining a group within your religion?
