The stigma of online dating

This has probably been addressed numerous times before, but just curious... How do you all deal with the stigma of online dating? When you tell people you have a date and they ask how you met, do you lie or tell the truth?

He, he.
I do the same. My parents know I met my current boyfriend online, my friends know, my coworkers know, his friends know. So far I haven't had one person make a big deal out of it, actually I'm surprised at how many people say things like "me too!" "I have a friend who just married someone from match" "A bunch of my friends are doing that" "that's so cool" "I've been wanting to try it out for a while, how is it?"
It's only a stigma if you make a big deal out of it. I act normal and I get normal replies...
There really ISN'T any stigma attached to OLD anymore by single people. The only ones who attach the 'stigma' are those who are married or... those recently divorced who tried it and failed at it.
I have no problem telling people when I'm Online. I want it (the whole concept) to become as regular as meeting through friends. I think we're almost there.
It hasn't happened to me yet, but I'm waiting for some numbnut married-guy to spit out some stupid remark to me like, "Yeah, if Barb and I ever divorced I doubt I'd ever do that weird online thing."
I'll stand tall, push back my shoulders and retort, "I get laid 3 times a week from the sites. HowBoutChew, pal?"
LOL. If he ever divorces I'll let him find the truth out for himself.
(in this case I qualify success as having dates in general, not a relationship itself)

Any stigma that exists get perpetuated by telling people you met any other way.
Why not bring into the light that fact that "normal" people do OLD and it's nothing to be ashamed of?
