I've had REALLY crappy luck with online dating over the last year or so...but I think that may ahve suddenly changed...
I have a profile on mySpace, just to catch up with old friend and such. Well, on Friday, I was browsing through people from my area, and came upon a profile of a guy that was really cute, so I clicked on it and started reading his blogs. He had posted several fiction stories that he had written, and some real-life stuff, and they were amazing...I just had to write him and let him know that his words touched my heart.
So I did...and he replied...and I replied, asking for more stories. So he sent me a true one, and it had me in tears. It was about his ex-fiancee committing suicide 3 years ago...and I understood every emotion he was talking about, because my ex-fiancee also committed suicide 3 years ago.
We ended up talking on IM for 3 hours. We clicked better than anyone I've ever talked to in my life...not only about our past situations, but EVERYTHING, and he's looking for the exact same thing I am in a relationship.
I'm so excited about this. I can't wait to meet him IRL...I feel like we already have a connection of sorts, because of the distinct emotions associated with our past situations. I know it's WAY early, but something just feels right about this...please don't think I'm crazy!
I just don't know what to think about this one...wish me luck!

UPDATE:
We had our first date tonight, and he's just what I expected! We had a great time. We cooked dinner together, and tried to watch a movie, but ended up talking all the way through it, so I couldn't even begin to tell you what it was about. We talked for 7 hours, then he called me 5 minutes after he left my house to talk to me on his way home! He's really smart, and focused, and sweet...not to mention a good kisser! LOL
We made plans to see each other again Wednesday...
This is so exciting! Finally, something good coming out of OLD...
:-D
that's great -- isn't it nice to finally meet someone you're excited about?! enjoy it, but do keep realistic expectations and keep your head about you. i certainly hope it works out, but try not to get too invested until you've known him for a while. easier said than done, right? good luck -- and have fun.
