So I think I've just experienced another OLD rite of passage...
Last night a 31 year old guy winked at me. His profile seemed okay, but I'm 24 and 31 is a little much for me. 29 is my cut off age.
THEN today, I get home from work and he has emailed me. Turns out last night after he winked at me, he went to comment on a friend's myspace, and on that myspace he saw my face on her friend's list. My good friend and coworker is friends with this guy! In his email he mentioned that and said he just wanted to say hi upon finding out I'm the friend of a friend.
I replied asking him to keep my match membership private (I'm private about dating, always have been.) I asked how he knows her and whatnot. Turns out this guy is also from my home state.
I'm not sure what to do next. I know it's the person who counts and not age or whatever, but I'm not overly attracted to him and he seems like he might lack in self-confidence. Should I give it a shot and reply to his latest email, or let it go?
Thanks!

Pink,
I think you need to go with your gut on this one. If you feel like there is some interest I don't see any harm in going on one date or getting to know him at least on a friendly level. But, if you really don't see any attraction then don't. Don't let the fact that he knows one of your friends determine wether or not you should go out with him. If you honestly wouldn't date him if he didn't know your friend then I wouldn't go out with him. JMHO
