New match program inspires ghosts?

I really think that it does. I think that the rules of the program which state that you must contact 5 people in a month for 6 months to be meet the requirements encourages people to contact people that they have zero intention of following back up with even if that person responds. I've had two guys email in the last week or so. Both were OK enough that I responded. I haven't heard back from either of them. I kept both emails pretty light and talked about a couple things in their profiles and answered any questions posed to me in the email - my replies were 3 very short paragraphs (two paragraphs were one sentence/question, the other was 3 sentences). Nothing. Absolutely nothing. It's very frustrating.

I'm on month 5 of my 6 months and haven't met a soul. It's ridiculous. I'm not unattractive, I am articulate and I think the emails I send back are not bad. I suppose it could be me that is off-putting in some way but I really think it's this process. At least I hope so!

Thanks! It's hard not to get frustrated. I've been doing this BS on and off for years now and not had a lot of luck. But it's hard to meet guys the "traditional" way too.

I had a friend who is on Match admit she responded to two emails telling them they were not a match because it would count as a "connection". I don't blame her for it but I'm sure that wasn't the way the program was intended! ;-)

I hope I have better luck this year but I do think that program encourages laziness and an attitude of "I'll just contact them and ghost." Sigh...
