Match.com Question / Other sites?
| Fri, 02-16-2007 - 3:37pm |
Hi Everyone, I am re-entering the OLD world and have a technical question re: Match. When you receive an e-mail, a copy of it goes to your regular e-mail address. You can either hit reply (like you are replying to a regular e-mail) or you could reply within the site. Am I correct in assuming that if I reply the first way (as if it's a regular e-mail) that the message goes into the recipient's own e-mail box.
Thanks,
L'Kitty
Also, I am thinking of switching over to another site, like Yahoo, but wondered if there are any newer sites out there that I may not have heard of since I have not been OLD for the past three years - any recommendations?

I don't have an answer for your technical question about match.com. I was on match.com, didn't subscribe. I'm on yahoo now. On yahoo, you can read the emails that other people send even if you don't subscribe. I'm subscribing to just to try it out. So far, this guy and I have been sending each other messages for a week now.
I've heard other people who have been on MySpace that have met people to date. I'm on Facebook, which is free, and have made a few friends, people interested in running. I did meet one of the guys in person, very cute and and we found a lot to talk about. I don't know if it will go beyond a friendship level though.
I don't know how old you are but MySpace and Facebook are dominated by college students and 20-somethings. I'm 39 but look young for my age and can pass for a 28 year old. I don't advertise my birthdate like many people on Facebook but you can tell that I'm in my late 30's by my college graduation date and the age of my oldest child. Good luck with your OLD.
