When To Meet People

I was just wondering when it is best to set up a first meet with someone. I am usually pretty busy during the week, so I have been doing it on the weekends. The only thing is that I usually just meet for a drink the first time, so I am not tied into spending to much time with someone if I am not interested. The problem is if I meet on a weekend or weekend nights it is hard to make up a reason to keep the meeting short initially. During the weeknights you can say you have to work the next day. When do other people schedule first meets?
Thanks,

I usually set up first meets for coffee on Sat or Sunday afternoons. That way, it's easy to cut it short by saying that I have other things to do later than afternoon.

I usually met people for the first time during the week, actually. If it wasn't going well, I'd make up whatever excuse I had to to leave (laundry, gym, early day tomorrow, etc.). Plus, I would meet them a little later, say around 7:30/8:00, so we both expected to only meet for an hour or so anyway.

I don't have a particularly strong reason for meeting during the week, except that I always considered the weekends to be "prime time" and I usually had other plans. I figure a guy's got to work his way up to the weekends... first he gets a Tuesday, then maybe the next time a Thursday, then maybe he'll qualify for a Friday or Saturday after that. ;)

That's just me though. :)

I think meeting on the weekend is fine, just have an excuse as to where you have to go--meeting for dinner with friends, other responsibilities, etc.
