How does everyone fit there exercise....

in when you work long days? I know this may seem like a stupid question, but my job can have very long hours and I find it hard to fit exercise in on those days I work. I go in for 7:30 in the morning and sometimes don't get home until 7 at night. I'm not a morning person, but by the time I get home at night I don't feel like it either. LOL! Do you all get up extra early to fit it in? Does everyone workout everyday? The only thing that saves me is I am part-time. One week I work 2 days and the next I work 4 and it keeps rotating like this. So on my days off I try to workout twice to make up for the days I miss. (not sure if it works that way)Just wondering how everyone else makes it work. ~Nancy~

I guess I can't really help you out here - I am a SAHM so I do it every morning at 7 am,
I have to agree that since you're not a morning person I would use those as your "off" days.
My work schedule is that I am busy every other week
Hi Nancy,
I would also agree that maybe those could be your days off. That is a long day! Or maybe when you get home from work you could go for a walk? The only thing that I have ever honestly found to work for me is doing my workout first thing in the morning. Whenever I get into that rountine, its the only time I ever actually exercise consistantly. Good luck!:)

I usually do my best workouts in the evening after work.
My current work day is pretty normal, however; I did once have a super-stressful job with ridiculous hours. During that time, I used to work out in the evening too.
I sometimes can get in a quick one mile or stretch in the AM, but I have a lot more energy after work.
I find that the Walk Away the Stress video is a good one.
It helps me to unwind at the end of the day.
For me the trick is to talk myself into it if I am tired.
I begin the self-talk on the way home on the train, reminding myself of how good I will feel afterwards, how I will be able to really relax and enjoy dinner and sleep much better after a work out. I tell myself that it is not work, but taking good, loving care of myself, and that I desreve to be healthy.
I find too, that on those occasions when I do get in a quick morning walk, I feel better--less stressed and more energetic all day.
Best wishes !
