Brief summary: I'm in my early 30's have two children ages 8 and 2. My ex and I have been trying to get a divorce for more than a year and a half. We're not fighting over anything - just can't seem to get the attorneys to finish. I married my ex at 21 and haven't been on a first date since my Freshman year of college. For the past few months I have been occasionally meeting a male friend (in his mid 40's) for drinks and hours of conversation on nights that my kiddos are with their father.

Last night my friend took me out for a very nice dinner - not at our usual hang-out. I had a really nice time and the evening ended with a hug - the first time he has ever touched me.

I was thinking about sending him a simple thank you card. Would that seem weird?

mom2maggie...

PG thinks the "thank you card" isn't cheesy at all!

Just don't pick out anything gooey or mushy. You can include a short note if you wish, but include NOTHING that references your upcoming divorce!

Thanks. I wouldn't reference my divorce in the note. However, my friend already knows about all there is to know.

I think that a funny... light... thank you card would be totally appropriate :-)
