How much younger do mature men want their women?
It seems to me like it's many years. Practically all the second marriages I observe around me involve men my age (late 40's) marrying much younger women (around 30-35). If that's the norm then the men who would be interested in me would be nearing retirement age, not what I'm looking for. I've been considering internet dating svcs. and have been looking at some of their posters. Many men are looking for considerably younger women.
Is this the norm?
If so, I feel discouraged.

I don't know that there are a lot of men on this board, but I can give my experience. I'm 48, and recently dated a guy who is 42. The guy I was out with last night is 46, and I'm emailing a guy who is 51. I haven't really found that it's the "norm" for guys in their 40s and early 50s to be hung up on finding a younger woman--some are, sure, but it seems to be a fairly small group, and they wouldn't be a good match for me anyway so I'm not going to worry about it. A lot of guys around our age are NOT interested in starting a family (or another family) so they are happy to date women who are not interested in having (more) kids.

Since I started dating some time after I resolved my divorce issues, I havent consciously paid attention so much to age as much as to attraction. There have been a few that were "too young," and I have dated a few women older than me.
I am active.. I like to go... so someone that is sedentary and not interested in getting out and going... doing things... isnt a good fit for me.
Given that, dating in general, is somewhat discouraging...
