Hi, I lurk here alot and even posted a few times to this and other iV boards. I am going to meet a guy I met on POF tomorrow, this will be my first meet since divorce. Have emailed about 2 weeks and talked briefly on the phone twice. He seems like a really nice guy. My question would be, how to you find out if he has major skeletons in his past... I've seen several post were people talk about not dating ex-cons, but do you just come out and ask? Or do you just take a chance and see how things pan out? I know this is just a first meet and may not even lead to dating, but hopefully somewhere along the line I will meet someone and don't want to waste my time or theirs if there are deal breakers. Suggestions??

Pianoguy feels that ANY NEW FRIENDSHIP should be approached as just that: A NEW FRIENDSHIP!
It's not necessary to 'worm out information' about the man's past...and vice versa...until the 2 of you have become comfortable with one another. Besides, if you learn everything about anybody (SKELETONS INCLUDED) during the first date...what's the point of having a 2nd?
If your only goal is to land a "new fish" to potentially stink up your life---what's the point of 'casting your rod' in the first place?
