When you know things just aren't right and it's time to move on, how do you break it off?

What is the right way and the wrong way, in your book, to end things?

I usually know by the first date as to whether or not I am interested in a person. That may seem alittle short sited but it's been my experience it's either there for me or it isn't. I have found that the direct approach is the best way. If you leave even a little hope they will hang on to your annoyance. Just let them know that although they are a very nice person you just don't feel #1 they are right for you, or #2 that you are in a place in your life that see someone exclusively makes sense. Kindness and respecting the other person's feelings is a must. Think of how you would want someone to let you go. Carefully and as painless as possible is my take!
