Help! Blind Date!?

Need blind date etiquette advice please. We've only seen each other's pictures and we're meeting at a restaurant for dinner. This is a large, rather crowded, upscale restaurant, and I'm unsure about what to do when I arrive. Do I assume he's arrived before me and has been seated? Do I look for him in the lobby? Roam aimlessly? Never having been in this particular situation, I have no idea what normal protocol is. Please send wisdom. Thanks, Judith

I would look for him in the lobby. I would be surprised if he was seated before you arrive. Good luck!

???

Write him an email that says "I'll meet you __________(by the large plant in the middle of the lobby... under the green awning outside the restaurant's front door.... at our table -- please see Jan, the hostess, for seating.... ) at _______ (time)"

Wait in the front with the expectation that he will recognize you and find you since he should assume that you would not approach a strange man and ask him "are you ___?"

I would assume he would wait for me in the lobby and not be seated before I arrived.

When I met my boyfriend for our first date (blind, no pic) we agreed to meet just outside. He was waiting for me outside (as he said he would) when I got there.
