Is older guy interested or not??

a couple of months ago, I met a shy, self-employed guy who is 13 years older than me. he said he would like to go for dinner and we exchanged phone numbers. after not hearing from him, I called him and left a voice mail to say hello and suggests some possible days to go out. when he called back, he seemed happy I called and because of schedules, we choose a day two weeks away. after the conversation, I haven't heard from him or seen him since. I called him on wednesday to see if we were still on for this saturday. he was busy and said he would call me later. well, two days later...no call then on friday afternoon he called me. because I was sick, I couldn't go out. I'm confused. Eventhough he suggested going out, I feel as if I'm the one pursuing him. Was he just being friendly or is he genuinely a shy guy?

I personally wouldn't have called him - he needed to follow up - I think that he is just not a reliable person and I wouldn't continue to have contact with him - if this is the way he behaves early on imagine what you'll have to put up with down the road.

Guys don't like to be pursued. You have to step back and let them do the chasing. This is the only way things are going to work out. Many women haven't realized this yet.

I don't think anyone has to chase anyone - rather in the beginning I don't think it's effective to pursue. Most men love being asked out but most of those men are flattered but not interested beyond a few dates or possibly a fling. Most women I know let the man do most of the pursuing in the beginning so I do not agree with the rest of what you said, either.

yep, I think you are right. if he's truly interested, he would show it. I'm moving on...thanks!
