Can someone tell me what happened?

I hadn't dated for six years. Then one day I met my good friend's brother. We had an immediate attraction. He asked his sister if he could call me. I questioned my friend about him, and she said I should go for it. I did.
We dated for two months. No sex, just getting to know each other. It was a match made in heaven. I thought. He would call me all the time. He'd call while he was on his way to work, when he got in from work. I saw him often. He bought dinner. Bought gifts for my daughter. And we really connected mentally. I couldn't believe I had finally found someone who I really liked and connected with.
Then one day after two months, I decided I wanted to have sex. We did. It was okay. It went a little quick but it was nice.
It's been over one month and I haven't heard from him since that day. Everytime I ask his sister if she has talked to him she says, "no, I haven't heard from him."
I don't get it. Does anyone out there get it?

Oh, that's tough to deal with, I'm sorry that happened to you!
Who knows what happened...maybe he also felt that the sex was just ok and was expecting more fireworks, or something?
I don't think I'll ever find out the real truth here since I am good friends with this guys sister. And she probably won't want to hurt my feelings. I will probably get some lame excuse. But it would of been nice to get some kind of explanation. I guess that's just not in this guys make-up, to act like a mature adult.
Thanks again.
Janice
But sometimes people just lose interest, even after several months or years. There are NEVER any guarantees, for any of us.
There's a (slim) chance that he will call you again... sometimes men don't say "goodbye" because they want to keep the option open of coming back to you for another fling. But if I were you, I wouldn't be interested in hearing from him EVER again. It was not nice of him to disappear without a word, especially right after sleeping with you.
And I certainly wouldn't call or email him to see what happened. Move on. There's someone better out there for you! And you should probably stop asking his sister if she's heard from him. You're making it awkward for her. She's caught in the middle and probably really embarrassed that her brother did this disappearing act on you.
Take care.
Just let him go, and look forward to meeting new and better men.
