Find a Conversation

Here's a question for ladies in general but I guess guys who are knowledgeable are good to.
I was wondering what's the general feeling about asking out a complete stranger. Will she think I'm nuts or how do you start that conversation. I've recently been trying to be more assertive because life is going to pass me by. Here's an example. Today I was in Subway and this attractive girl was in front of me and she was going to check out but had to add something else on last minute. So she apologizes for causing me to wait and offers for me to go ahead and jokes a little as well. So as she and I are getting our drinks I thought to myself about asking her out and how that would be and what I should say.
Any advice in general would be appreciated. Thanks
James

Well, I wouldn't think you were nuts. :)
I'd suggest keeping it casual. "Would you like to grab some coffee sometime?" ... getting coffee keeps it very low-key, it's easy to converse, and keeps the date short, in case neither person is "feeling it."
If the coffee date goes well, be sure to ask her out then and there ... at the end of that date. We ladies like that (if the date goes well, knowing that he wants to see me again and has the foresight to set up another date on the spot). THAT will speak volumes.
Also, you said you were at Subway ... you could just say "would you like to join me" and eat your lunch together ... right there (yes, even if you were planning on taking it out ... switch your plan and invite her to sit down with you ... no time like the present to catch an opportunity!)
