I have been in love with my brother in-law's best friend for about two years now. I only see him about every four to eight months, so you could say I have not spent that much time to really now him. I fell in love with him at first sight and even more when we met for a week at my brother in-law's house. He was sweet and courteous to me the entire time. Every time we are around each other, we keep staring at each other! It's been almost a year and I've been dating other guys since then but I just don't feel the way I do with the other guys like I do with him. It's almost inhibiting me from having feelings for anyone else, and I'm getting very lovesick! I know if I tried to go on a date with him or even tell him openly I'm interested, I just know it will be very awkward with my family. Please help!

I was curious why going on a date with him would cause your family to feel awkward... It's not like you're blood related, or even in-law related, he's your brother-in-law's friend! Of course I don't know the situation, but perhaps it wouldn't be as big of a deal with your family as you're suspecting it might? If your feelings for him have gone on this long, he must be very special to you. I'd find a way to see if he feels similar and go out for that date!
