juliara2003...

3 male observations from Pianoguy:

1. If the grocery bill and your b/f's food intake doesn't bother you...why have you brought the issue up at least 3 times in your post?

2. Have you REALLY discussed a fair dining out/movie paying arrangement with him?

3. If you're going to compare your past 'more than a little generous b/f relationships' with your current 'more than a little cheap' boyfriend----why bother dating him in the first place???

You don't have to be a doormat or a provider for anybody...BUT if his habits are annoying you after only 4 months...do you honestly see A FUTURE for the 2 of you?

I think you need to start communicating. I think you've always gone dutch (it doesn't matter that you were FWB before and it progressed into a relationship) you've always gone dutch so in his eyes it's no different so you should just talk to him and stop playing coy.

Your lack of communication with your boyfriend is what got you into the New Years Eve huff despite the good advice the people here gave you. Don't keep making the same mistakes. Communication is key to any good relationship. Remind him that you do not have a job and so paying for half the dinner isn't really feasible for you right now so if "going out" is on the agenda he'll have to pay in your current "financial" situation.

Well, not looking great but it's worth having a conversation -not in a blaming way but that you really would like to have dates and be treated nicely and courted like most guys and girls do who start going out. You can ask him what his experience usually is with women he dates. And yes, mention that while it's your pleasure to host and feed him you really would appreciate him chipping in occasionally for groceries. It's also worth mentioning that since you do make him all these lavish meals you were surprised the one time he took you to a restaurant he didn't treat you.

He may not have any idea what he is doing and be open to change. But he also might not, and in that case you should definitely show him the door!
