Gifts for Coworker

I'm not sure if this is the right board for this question, but thought Id give it a try.
I am friends with a coworker who is married. I am not and currently single. He and I share alot of things in common and generally spend time together during work and after. I've never met his wife but imagine she is quite nice, although I don't believe they share all the same things in common he and I do; hence, our friendship. Anyway, my point is that he and I will buy little things for each other. Mostly work, cd related items. And sometimes he may bring those things to his home. I never asked, but suddlenly thought today, is that considered inappropriate? We are just platonic friends, but I wonder, if I were his wife, what I would think. I dont' know maybe its a silly question, but I was just looking for some viewpoints.....
Thanks for chiming in..

Do me a favor, ask this man what he tells wife when he shows her the gifts you buy for him. If he doesn't admit they are from you then you can make a decision whether this is inappropriate or not.
If you want to make your platonic friendship with this man all okay, invite him and his wife over for dinner.
