is this too fast?

i just went on a second date with a guy i used to work with. i've been talking to him on the phone every day for about 2 weeks. this time he asked if i think we could make this work long-term.
is that a weird question to ask on a second date? i like him but i'm wondering if he's being pushy or if he's crazy or something.

Whether or not it's too fast is completely up to you. To me, it would depend on how well you knew him. When you worked together were you friends? Did you hang out a lot? That would weigh in my decision. If you weren't friends, then it really depends on the depth of your blooming relationship. Sometimes you meet people you just gel with, but I'm thinking that if you're asking you may be thinking it's too fast...
You could always talk to him and let him know you need things to go a little slower. Communication is never a bad thing! :)
being a guy, I can understand where hes coming from. When guys end up really liking a girl, sometimes they become reluctant about a relationship because they want to have that long-term security for themselves. If you've been only talking everyday on the phone for the past two weeks and have dated twice, I would say that you should take it easy still. I've learned from past mistakes that jumping right into a relationship might please you immediately, but down the road it leads to problems and fights due to the fact that you didn't take enough time to learn more about each other.
So basically, I think it might be too soon for that. Talk to him and if your interested tell him you are, but that you wanna wait before you start a committed relationship because you want things between you two to work. When telling him this though, try your best to make sure he knows you really do want to be with him and that your not just saying that as an excuse.
you used to work for him so I guess you know each other somewhat. But yes it's too early for a commitment. But you can say you're willing to see each other to see if it can go anywhere but that's its too soon to say for sure, wny does he sort of want to "lock things up" so early?
