Hi,

I'm a newbie to this board. I met a nice guy a week ago, we've talked on the telephone several times. We just had a first date on Sunday, which went well. He seems to know what he wants is direct, polite and upfront. The problem is I don't really feel a physical spark. I tested it by kissing him and there wasn't anything. He is also big into PDA, which I'm not that fond of.

I was afraid of this when I met him because he is not the type of guy I normally date. But I haven't had much luck dating guys who I have been extremely attracted to, so I decided to be more open and give people a chance.

He is interesting, and our conversations have been good. Would it be misleading for me to continue to see him, or should I allow this thing a fair chance?

I appreciate any comments or suggestions.

You can try going out with him again and see what happens. I wouldn't let it go too much further after that if you dont feel any kind of attraction to him.

Sparks can come from a base of spending time together, liking someone, doing fun things together. Give it a bit more of a chance before definitively saying after one date, "Nope, not my type."

i have had this happen too. the kissing test is definitely an indicator!!! the guy is smart, funny, cute . . . then - nothing!!

i usually gauge it by, 'would i rather be kissing this guy or snuggling with my cat?' if the cat wins (usually does) - then it's 'next!!!'

best of luck with your search
