His Best Friend

Hi girls. I recently was broken up with by my boyfriend of three months. He told me it was because our relationship was mainly a physical one and he simply "didn't have any more feelings for me." Whether or not this is an excuse to be single and in college, this is what he told me. He was my first serious boyfriend so I had some attatchment, but I am beginning to move on.
I've always thought is friend was nice, but as I was in a relationship I ignored any flirtation and any possible feelings that I could of had. Now I realize part of my developing crush is because a new boy will help me feel better, but is the best friend absolutely off limits? If my ex doesn't have any feelings like he claims, it should be fine...right?

Generally speaking it is best to not date within a particular social circle.

Be truthful with yourself...Turn this around, what if he wanted to date your best friend? Do you see any problems with that? Could that cause any hard feeling within the circle, even if you had no feelings for him?
