They’re coming...Like an annual avalanche of good cheer, holiday house guests are rolling your way, with all the accompanying warm wishes, fond kisses, and toilet-bowl misses (an all-too-common side effect of guests using an unfamiliar bathroom in the middle of the night. Or maybe that’s just at my house). What are your best strategies and tips for handling house guests this time of year?

We have never had anyone stay with us for the holidays~~and this year we won't either (I broke my wrist & tore/pulled tendons, so I'm in a brace for the next 5 weeks) so we are going to go to OR for BIL's bd & TG (and staying in a hotel for a couple of days & doing some shopping. For Christmas, we do a dinner with MIL the week before so she can be with BIL/his 2 dd's on Christmas morning~~and we will have my oldest dd, sil & gd over for dinner & gifts on Christmas eve (they live in the same town as we do)~~so on Christmas day it will be just the two of us,doing our thing (me either on the computer/reading/watching the tv/cross stitching) dh tinking around in his shop/playing piano/sleeping.
