In laws feel abandoned

Moved to TX from CA 8 mos ago. Hubby's family was not speaking to us as they felt abandoned. Mother has warmed up - but brother still refuses to talk to my hubby.
We were in CA for 20 yrs of our marriage - found an opportunity to make good $$ on our house for retirement. Hubby will be 50 this year. We gave them a lot of good years and involved them with the kids, etc. I have family in TX and we wanted the kids to know them as well. Hubby has been back to CA to visit his mother and brother. They don't seem to appreciate it. It's only a 3 1/2 hour flight. Don't think there is anything else we can do - but continue to try and keep communication open and let them know we are still family.

They'll come around. They're just being bratty. Just do as you said: keep talking and killing them with kindness.

How selfish! I wouldn't keep making flights out there, let them so some maturity for one and also some initiative to come see you guys.
