Becoming a better man

I am dealing with a ton of emotions from my childhood. I am in counseling by myself and with my wife. I do not want to lose her and more importantly I do not want to hurt her ever again. I am looking for suggestions on how to succeed. I am firm in my commitment to be a better person, husband and father. I can do this with the help of my wife and the help of the therapist but I am looking for any additional assistance that will help me succeed. Thank you.

Your wife can not help you. You must do the work all by your self and since you've selected this particular board, and stated that you do not want to hurt her ever again, I suggest you find a program specifically designed for abusers. A "general therapist" will not help you either.

This message board is here as a support for victims of abuse and I'm politely requesting that you look elsewhere for your information and support.

I understand your request. I am not looking for sympathy but for ways to better understand and ways to become a better person. I sincerely didn't mean to offend anyone.

Sir, I am kindly asking you to leave the board at this time.
