thank god that this time they admitted him!!! He signed himself in, hes 18 now. Drug tox showed positive for cocaine and heroin. i am in shock. I kicked him out 5 weeks ago because he was being verbally and physically abusive to me and his sister. he went to live some kids and got turned onto crack cocaine and snorting heroin. I cant believe this, i am in shock. thank goodness the hospital took him into their program.

Oh, Zen...big hugs to you during this time!! I know that this must be extremely difficult, and as a mother, I *can't* even imagine. But working in the drug/alcohol field for several years...make sure you take care of yourself!! Try to find a parents group in your area....its sooo easy to fall into enabling behavior (its a mommy thing) and to really help your son you need to be very strong for him when he completes treatment. The majority of work is on HIS back, not yours, but you can help him tremendously. Even an Al-Anon group might be helpful, even though they found narcotics in his system.

The BEST thing you did, believe it or not, was kicking him out...he needed to hit bottom, and this might be what he needs. But don't be surprised if he goes around with this for a few times...its quite common, esp. at his age.

Good luck and God bless...I'll be praying for you!!!

Pam -

Huge hugs to you. Yes, thank goodness he is there. You know they will do everything they can to help him. You have been through so much. Perhaps this is the help that he needs now. You were right in standing up for your boundaries and not allowing him to stay and continue to verbally abuse you and your daughter. I'm sure that was extrememly difficult for you. Sometimes people have to hit the bottom in order to make a change for the better.

My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Pam
