Hi everyone. Just wanted to give you guys and update on how things are going. Well, they aren't really going anywhere. Things are stading still. Do all divorces take this long?

The processor still hasn't found my h. The hearing was set for today. Second one this month. This is also the day my RO stops. But, my lawyer went in front of the judge today to get it extended. Haven't heard from him yet. This is a new lawyer. My old lawyer left the place I was working with and she found another man to take my case. Thank god!! There's been a lot of obstacles. The main problem is that Kevin can't be found. So we have to keep putting it off and putting it off. My lawyer is suppose to talk to the judge about running his name in the paper today since we've made numerous attempts to contact him and still haven't been successful.

I can't beleive I married someone who was abusive to me. Even early on I should have seen the signs. How he wanted to control everything, the little comments he made about me, and just the fact that he had to have me there with him all the time. But, no need to dwell on wasted time.

I walked into her office that day when I filed for divorce thinking okay this is it. I'm doing it. Soon this will all be over with and I can get on w/my life. Here I am still waiting for soemthing. An actual hearing would be nice. But, things are just standing still and I'm still standing. Ugh!!

Just venting,

Melissa

Hey Mel -

Even with Nerfy the Hooters Manager getting served on the first attempt and him not fighting (allegedly) anything, mine still took 11 months, CL-Bama is over a year on hers, there's a couple that have taken longer.

just letting you guys know i have yet another court date. june 28th. our one year anniversary. my lawyer called me at home last night and told me he couldn't convince the judge. so..... i'm waiting once again. after hearing the time you guys spent waiting on a divorce, i shouldn't even be complaining.

one more thing. my daughter is getting tested for asthma that day and my lawyer said he would try to change the hearing. would that look bad on me? should i just rescedule her appt.? b/c the week after i'll be taking my kids to disney world and won't be able to have it then. so now i'm the one canceling. will the judge hold that against me?

thanks,

mel

Here's how I look at this:

1) It's a Dr. appt., designed to test the well-being of your child.
