A Rabid Dog Moment

Only moments ago I wanted to lunge for his throat. He was on his way out the door to meet with a customer and after a brief exchange as to when he'd return so I could run some errands (only the two of us in the office now), he says,"Oh, I also have to stop home and let my dogs out." Innocent enough, right? So I said, "Ok, see you later." BUT NOOOOOO.......He had to add:

"The wife went out of town today and took James (his son), so looks like I am on my own for the next 24 hours ."

At first I felt nothing, as I have mastered tuning him out when he talks about his personal life. BUT within 5 minutes of his leaving I

(((((True))))),

Hugs to you. Why when things get to be OK do they start this crap so we can go through it all over again?

I say leave a note for him to find when he returns that you have left for the day with NO indication on where you went.

Hey:

This guy definitely has your number. And yup, no matter how tough we appear or as tough as our advice can be, he can still get to you and get a rise out of you. It sounds intentional on his part, for sure. Game playing. Maybe even wants to physically harm you (if he knows you're on meds).

Good luck making it through the day. Sounds rough.

Alife,

Thanks for responding. I almost emailed you......still might later. Yeah, wish I could book out the door, but my desk is stacked. No worry my friend, I am freezing up as I write this.

Oh crap.....he's back.....gotta go,

Wow true, I thought you were past all this stuff already.

He was really putting the bait out there by talking about how wife is out of town. I'm so glad you weren't the least bit tempted. GOOD FOR YOU...

I don't blame you for being angry. Even if he didn't mean the comment as a way of inviting you over for some you know what he should be smarter than to talk about his personal life at all with you, if that was the agreement that you made.

I sometimes wish I worked with XOM so I can prove to him and to myself how strong I am...that I can be a total professional, etc...that is what you are doing and I'm very inspired by your strength.

How long was your A and who ended it?

Too long, I'm afraid. 4.5 years and I ended it last June. Thanks for your thoughts, SCU. No, it hasn't been easy and I have come really far, but stuff like today just fries my beans!!

I'm outta here to run errands....think I'll just keep on going.

True,

I'm sending some extra cold Arctic air your way through cyberspace. I am so glad I'm not working this week. XMM is off, but I don't think I could handle one more person asking me what happened between us. Last week I wanted to just scream. I wonder if anyone has asked him, maybe that's why he's acting so weird. Oh well, don't really care.

Email away if you need to. I'll be off the computer for most of the afternoon since I have a date.

true,

I can't imagine the stress of XMM being my boss! That's gotta be tough.

He was definitely throwing you a bone to see if you'd bite it.

"How do you politely tell your boss to F off?" I think you did a great
job of doing that!

Hang in there - you are in the drivers seat!

Hiya True,

Sign this woman up for the Yankees immediately, she's obviously got talent with catching sh*t even when it comes from way outta left field!

Glad you're breathing again, True. You obviously have his full measure, and aren't likely to fall for his little seemingly innocuous landmines. Come to think of it, it's kinda insulting really that he'd think you were that dim as to fall for something so bleedin' obvious, isn't it?!

Hat's off to ya, girl. More proof if any were needed that we ARE fully able to control our own actions (not, of course, that it's always easy to refrain from bopping them on the noggin when they step over our boundaries!!!).

You deserve one he11uva Xmas bonus for this alone!

Wishing you strength & peace,
Posie
