Do you believe in signs?

We've discussed this concept on the board before. Most of us agreed that while in the midst of our A.s we looked for portents of the future. Someday's name is the same at our xMM, we badger the Magic 8 ball, or hear our favorite song on the radio, etc.

I heard a song on the radio today, and I think it's a sign -- this time, in my favor.

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing by Jack Johnson

Well I was sitting, waiting, wishing
You believed in superstitions
Then they'd be able to see the signs
The Lord knows that this world is cruel
But I ain't the Lord, I'm just a fool
I'm in love with somebody
Don't make them love you
Must I always be waiting, waiting on you
Must I always be playing, playing your fool
I sang your songs
I danced your dance
I gave your friends all the chance
Putting up with them wasn't worth never having you
Maybe you've been through this before
But it's my first time so please ignore
These next few lines because they're directed at you
I won't always be waiting, waiting on you
I won't always be playing, playing your fool

I believe in signs, but I don't pay attention to songs.

I haven't even listened to music since it ended. I know that it will trigger an emotion in me right now that will make me want to vomit. All I have to hear right now is lame christmas music at work...I'm not lookin' forward to the 26th when it will probably return to 80's broken heart/love ballads....ugh.

I'm a HUGE believer in signs...however lately I have been trying to rationalize them because they all lead back to xOM (the cat, the postcard, the thank you card). I use to believe that signs were a 'signal' from a higher power - lately I have been telling myself that they are just coincidence (helps me to continue on the NC road).

I think songs are signs too - I also think when something comes up and you think it is a sign, you can interpert it anyway you want - negative or positive :-)

Thanks for lyrics!! :-)

My sign was the big L on his forehead. :-) or was it the horns peeking through his hair? Cant decide.

I belive in signs , infact I used to believe in them a lot more during my A, but now, when I get any signs leading me to thoughts of xOM, I start thinking of something else related to that sign, and there is loads more stuff to think of

<<I won't always be playing, playing your fool>>>

I am at the moment not listening to songs, but this song Shel, well these last two lines are just too apt.. I feel like texting these words to xOM right now, but NC is important so I will just let it lie.. dont want to stir up things now that they seem to be coming on track. Just my thoughts put down here..

Diva, read your post too, its good the way you are looking at the "signs" now. Hang in there, through the ups and downs we are going to make it

Well when a song comes on that makes you want to stab yourself in the heart then just start singing "muskrat love" or "me so horny".
