I've been following Atkins for about 2 1/2 months (since end of December) and the last time I got on the scale I had lost roughly 20 pounds (give or take, my weight fluctuates so much from day to day I'm laying off scales until 4/1). Anyway, I've been reading posts and looking at what others eat and I'm probably eating less than half of the normal diet listed here. I'm never hungry. Yesterday, at 6pm I realized I hadn't eaten all day. I'm wondering if I'm screwing myself up a bit, but on the other hand, I hate to eat when I'm not hungry.
My typical menu includes (of course) water, about 88+ oz a day, I eat lunch around noon (when I remember) of 1/2 box chopped spinach, 2 to 3 oz of jack cheese, 2 tbsp mayo, 1 tsp mustard, and a cut up chicken breast or whatever meat is left over from dinner the night before. All mixed together with the cheese melted in, yum. For dinner, I'll have a piece of meat, a 1/2 to 1 cup of whatever vegetable I'm giving my family (usually french cut green beans or spinach) I figure my daily carb intake is between 12 to 16 grams a day. I do use sweet n low in a cup or two of herbal tea at night. Once in a while I'll splurge and have a 1/2 cup of walnuts, or macadamia nuts but I tend to over-do on them (keep going back for one more nut, etc.) so I limit what I keep in the house.
I haven't noticed much in the way of changes in my clothes, maybe my aerobic shoes aren't as tight (weird but true). I do a step class at least 3 times a week with some Tae-bo mixed in and a yoga class when time (and my 4 children) permit.
Any ideas on adding a bit more carbs in somewhere? Or leave things as they are and see on the first if I've lost anything? I have roughly 40-50 pounds to lose to be my old self (the me that was pre my vegetarian days)
One more thought for the day.....those that say vegetarians are skinny are LIARS! I gained 30+ pounds on a strict low fat vegetarian lifestyle. :-) I am now a proud carnivore :-)
