Hi and welcome flower. Nice to meet you. Stick around and jump in anytime. Who is your favorite historical romance author?

Hi NHgal,

I have read some titles by Lynsey Sands that I enjoyed, but truth be told I'm more of a contemporary romance reader.

I've read some Nora Roberts and thoroughly enjoy Sidney Sheldon....I think they are romance novels.

Have you ever come across Aline, Countess of Romanones....The Spy Wore Red, The Spy Wore Silk, The Spy Went Dancing?

The works are semi autobiographical, very European and delightfully decadent. LOL

Hi Mrs. P,

I never saw them before but I looked on Amazon and they do seem very interesting.

I realized reading flowerlover's posting that men really are limited for choices in a way that women are not. It would seem that society is determined to shunt men down a very narrow

Dear Flowerlover,

Thank you for your very sweet reply. It's the middle of the night and my husband is out of town for several days, and the first night he is away I often have trouble sleeping. Guess I don't like being on my own.

When I was a little girl I sometimes envied the boys very much because my mom and dad were very protective of me, their only daughter. My brothers seemed to have so much more freedom than me, and I wanted that. Yet I had a mother who was a very feminine creature and as she passed on the 'craft' of being a woman to me I realized just how wonderful a life it can be for those of us who have XX chromosomes. This has been endorsed for me in recent years as I have gotten to know a whole different array of people.

I am delighted you responded.

Rikki
