The Goal seemed very far away back on January 1. Lots of things have transpired since I set that goal for us. Good and Bad things. The whole purpose of the goal was to bring us together as a community. At that point I was at the lead of this board. When that changed, I removed myself for a while and just watched. I believed that the board would really slow down without direction and it did for a while. But slowly it began to build back up.
After a few months, and some harsh feelings toward the situation as it were, I began to see a change happening. Slowly it began to build back up. As time went on I started to realize something. The community I knew and loved was truly that...... A strong and vibrant bunch of people that truly cared for one another. I was so very proud that what I had helped to foster was surviving and thriving. It made me feel like I really did make a difference to the people here and to Ivillage in general.
As we race toward OUR goal of 150,000, I ask that we all look back on our year together and be proud of what we have accomplished here. The fun times we have had, the laughter, the tears, the heartaches and changes that the year has brought to us personally and to us as a Community.
Remember, this is OUR Community. When someone new shows up on the scene, make a point to say hello and to welcome them, make them feel at home and comfortable here. That is one of the main things that I have always tried to do (and NH TOO, thank GOd for you girl).
As we continue onward, there will be more struggles, more laughter and probably more tears. As long as we hang together, We will be fine!
Hello Cindy! Nicely put, and so true, things in my life have changed a lot in the last two years I have been on The Ville! Met a lot of great people and made a lot of friends. Because of some life changes and some changes here on the board I don't post as much as I did in the past. I do however read and lurk a lot and have had some great fun and laughs just from that. Maybe one day things will change enough for me to have the time to post some more. Just know there are several people I have met here over the years that mean a whole lot to me and still have them as friends.

Part of what makes a community in this environment is not simply welcoming new members, although that is very important, but including members in the discussions makes a community thrive and grow.
Nice to see you also! Hope your weekend is going great! Mine is a day of plumbing fixes I think! Not much fun in that. I hope to be around a little more I do miss a lot of the people here

Hey you!
Like you, there are people I have met here who mean the world to me. Friends that I treasure and hold dear.
I may not post all that much either....but I stop in to catch up on the goings on.
I never leave here without a smile on my face,
(I see you are wearing my favorite pants again!)
Mrs P
