Ejaculation while sleeping, no erection?

This is kind of embarassing, but I hope someone can give me some answers. My husband told me that last night in the middle of the night he woke up and had ejaculated during his sleep. He said he wasn't having a sexual dream, and that he had no erection. He knew he didn't have an erection because the come was going down between his legs, dripping into his crack, rather than upwards on his chest or stomach. He said he felt an orgasm, or at least he felt the come come out. Is this normal? What causes this to happen?

P.S. We have sex a few times a week, but he stays pretty aroused most all the time. We also have just recently tried multiple orgasms, which means he can now orgasm, but hold back his come. Would this have any effect?

PLEASE HELP!

Hi,

This is unusual however theoretically possible. My wife gave me an orgasm once without an erection by massaging my prostate (through my anus). Didn't have much ejaculate though as the passage from the prostate to the urethra is less open in a limp penis.

You mentioned that you were working on multiple orgasms (I'm assuming that you mean him since he is the subject). In the Yogic/tantra tradition which my wife and I practice, yogi's learn to have multiple orgasms without ejaculating visibly as they believe that losing too much semen reduces the ojas. It's a bit of a myth, because what actually happens is the male ejaculates into his bladder because he has learned to control the muscles in the lower abdomen. If your husband has done this inadvertantly during your lovemaking sessions this could be the cause. The bladder is only accessable when the penis is not erect, so it is possible that the ejaculate was stored in the bladder and then expelled naturally during sleep. The human male has erections off and on all night as often due to the urge to urinate as erotic dreams, so this could have happened just as his penis moved from erect to flacid. This is pure supposition as I have never heard of this exactly. You may want to find a website with a tantirc sex expert and e-mail them your question...if you do, post what you find, I find this interesting.

Peace.

Scott.

First and foremost, its nothing to worry about. Although unusual, men can have orgasms without an erection. But what is more likely is that he did have an erection, and the ejaculation woke him up. By the time he was awake enough to really register what had happened, his erection had gone soft.

I don 't have wet dreams often, but I do have one or two a year, and most of the time, I wake up at the moment of orgasm or a minute or two later. The erections

Hi martinisnsushi! Welcome to our humble home here. LOL!!

Hi wantahug! I personally believe there's nothing to worry about.

Its not a very thing to happen for many of us guys, but it IS something that is considered perfectly normal in the sense that it doesn't really indicate any physiological problems to worry about. Remember, many men AND women have orgasms during deep sleep...even if they aren't aware of it and don't ejaculate at all.

The multiple orgasm techniques being the "trigger" for this is an interesting thought you've raised. I suppose it'd be more understandable if he enjoyed these multiples close to the time he had this wet dream. If you're interested, this may be a great topic for the Dr. Ruth message board to look into as well:

Hope this helps. If you learn anything new regarding the multiples, share the education with the rest of us, k?

I'm with martinisnsushi. By the time that you wake up and realise what's happened the erection was probably gone. His penis may have only been semi-erect or pushed down by the bedclothes anyway, so it's no great mystery why he felt the mess between his legs.

Wet dreams are pretty normal and nothing to be worried about. They won't affect his normal sex life. They're just further proof that everything is working well.

Haha...okay, I feel better now. He was kind of freaked out by it, and in turn I guess I got freaked out by it too. Everything has been fine since, so that's reassuring! Thank you for all your replies. I thought I had an explanation for everything, but this one really took me off guard! Thanks again, and I'll be sure to post about our experience with multiples...it's pretty easy!
