Anal Sex

Hi, I'm new to the messageboards. I have a question. I'm interested in trying anal sex but I'm really nervous because of the pain. Is it dangerous to use an anal desensitizer lotion for the pain? How well do the lotions work?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Anal sex isn't my thing, personally, BUT I do know that to truly enjoy ANY sexual act, you must be interested in the experience for yourself and not just going along for your partner only. So, if you're interested, you're more likely to be gratified, too. However, considering using a numbing agent is saying something else. Why are you assuming it will be painful? And if you're so convinced it's going to be painful, why would you want to do it at all? It IS okay to say no to your partner if you feel pressured or coerced, subtley or otherwise, though.

This is one act that you must be relaxed and comfortable with or it WILL be painful. And pain is the body's signal that something's wrong and possibly doing damage, so if you numb the pain, you're removing your last line of defense against lacerations, abrasions, tearing and possible infections, so you don't want to do that. Instead of numbing your tissues, spend plenty of time in becoming fully aroused, using LOTS of lube to ease the penetration.

IF you decide to try it, then start slowly and move at your own pace and comfort level, perhaps starting with digital penetration first. But your partner should understand that you'll be in control and be willing to stop if you feel pain or discomfort.

If you do it right, you'll feel stretching, but not pain.
