What happens with protection if you want to do it under water?

What KIND of "protection"? Whatever kind you use, water washes away your natural lubrication, and it's not as much fun as you think.

Condoms could come off or tear......if you're on the pill, it would have no effect. Also if you're talking about a hot tub, there can be bacteria in the water....and it could get in your vagina and cause an infection.

It depends on what kind of protection you're talking about.

I have never had to worry about protection under water, but it seems a condom should still work. The water can cause lubrication problems, but there are lubes on the market now that need more than water to wash away (KY Intrigue is one). (I'm not sure of their effect on condoms though.) In all honesty, if I had to worry about STD's, I probably wouldn't have underwater sex. If I was only worried about pregnancy, then I might try a condom, or the not so safe pull out method.

I have had sex in rivers, lakes, the ocean, bath tubs, showers, pools and hot tubs. (probably every kind of water) I would never have sex in a public hot tub. It doesn't always work out as planned, but sometimes it does and it is just incredible. My preferences would be the ocean and my hot tub. You are going to have fun playing in the water, but you may have to finish outside of the water. Water can present some challenges, but it can also create new possibilities. Buoyancy is an amazing thing!
