I hope everyone can help with this question. I am a 26 year old man who is in good shape and have been told that I am very attractive and that I have many things going for me. The only problem is that I myself have many self doubts and am pretty damn insecure about myself as a whole, almost as if somehow I missed out on something along the way. I have decided that trying out a nudist camp for a couple nights might be therapeutic for me to try to build some confidence and

Hey flyguy-
I'm not sure about this.
I suppose that it would be inevitable in the beginning, but once you realize it's NOT about sex (as far as I know most nudist camps are "family oriented"......there are children there!) but about being unclothed and free.......you might get over the sexual thoughts.
I've not been to a nudist event either, but I would think that the major thing that keeps erections at bay is the idea of why you're there. While I understand that a beautiful woman's body will normally cause an erection, if you meet a woman whom you find to be emotionally beautiful, does that also give you an erection? Beauty comes in different stages and has different versions. I believe nudist look past the physical beauty, they are looking for the general beauty in people.
Your brain is your biggest sexual organ. Think about it. Male gyn's don't get an erection while doing a physical exam of a beautiful woman -- it wouldn't be professional by any means. The doctor isn't focused on the woman's body as a sexual vessel, he's interested in her health, and his mind is on his task (which is non-sexual).
I would think showing your erection would be more like being an exhibitionist instead of a nudist. That is why, I supposed, it would be best concealed. It would also make other nudist feel uncomfortable, as if they were being viewed as a sex object and violated. They aren't there for your sexual pleasure -- they're there because they want the freedom associated with being a nudist.
I wonder how you think being at such a place would help your self-esteem? While you can have positive and negative things in life affect your self-esteem, it really comes from within you. Can you pinpoint things that you feel have affected your self-esteem?
I give up.
I'm not sure why you said "I give up". Perhaps you're trying to get validation for having sexual thoughts towards others at the nudist camp. I tried to explain with the example of the gyn, but I don't think you're looking at that as a reasonable comparison. Hopefully someone who has been to a nudist camp can chime in here and explain the difference, or the thought process that might be involved.
BTW, you seem to understand the absence of clothing as the "thing" that would cause this. Just out of curiosity, do you find yourself becoming sexually aroused by the checker at the grocery store, a co-worker who drops an assignment on your desk, the receptionist at your doctors office, etc?
are not that attractive when nude....running into a woman with
a killer body is probably a bit rare. Don't get me wrong...anything
in this world is possible. If you connect a nudist area w/ a sexual
feeling or thought then you may get an erection. If you connect
it with a new experience...curiosity...or as a kind of adventure
then you probably wouldn't worry about getting an erection.
I don't know if you're familiar with "Spencer Tunick"......if not, check it out here.
As a life-long nudist, it's just a body.
